Carrington 4th of July Parade!!
Posted on Jun 22nd, 2015

Hi Carrington Friends!

We are excited to announce the first annual Carrington Fourth of July parade! We will meet on Saturday morning July 4 at 9:45 am at Kensal Rise Circle on the west side of the neighborhood, and the parade will go north on Kensal Rise Pl which turns into Mooregate Dr, turn left on Cannon Dr, and end at the Cannon Drive park and clubhouse. We will have snow cones, a 22 foot tall inflatable water slide (so bring kids swimsuits! It can hold adults too if you want to play!), a smaller water slide and jumphouse for the little ones, and a fire truck! Feel free to decorate bikes, power cars, golf carts, etc, or just sit along the parade route and watch! If anyone has a fun car, a horse, or other idea they would like to drive in the parade, please let me know! We'd love to include them! Feel free to throw out candy if you'd like! This is so much fun for the kids- we hope to make it something they will look forward to every year! If you have any questions or ideas, we would love to hear them! Feel free to invite family and friends- they don't have to live in our neighborhood! A huge thanks to Carrington residents and the owners of Eskimo Sno Adrian and Jennii Buendia for donating snow cones to our neighborhood events!

** Residents who live along the parade route on Kensal Rise (north of Kensal Rise Cir), Mooregate Dr, and Cannon Dr, please note your street will be blocked off from 9:45-10:30 or so, as will the main west exit on Franklin.

Anyone who is willing to help hang caution tape to block off streets and take it down before and after the parade, or help with this or any future neighborhood events, please contact me! I would love to have your help and ideas!

Thanks for making our neighborhood so great! Hope to see you all there!

Please Be Aware...
Posted on Jan 9th, 2015
Carrington Home Owners,
We are making you aware of a recent incident that happened on Kingsland Rd. The following information is from a homeowner and the Norman Police Department has advised that it be forwarded along with these images to all of you to be on the look out. Please contact NPD at 321-1600 if you have any information.

The incident last night in our area from 2:47 a.m. to 3:04 a.m. at which point the suspect vehicle drives in the direction of the clubhouse (bypassing the exit right there).
The video footage shows two suspects in a dark (looks like black) truck.  One suspect exits the passenger side of the suspect vehicle and tries the door handles of all three of a neighbor's vehicle outside, then exits left to our cul-de-sac for a few minutes out of the camera's view.  (My neighbor's vehicle was broken into during this period, the glove box was open and things were disheveled, but nothing was taken... they did leave scratch marks all over his vehicle door).  Then the footage shows the suspect run to my well lit driveway and try the handles on my husband's locked truck.  Next the suspect approaches my mailbox, turns on a flashlight and reaches in the mail box and steals my mail.  Next he takes his time walking back to his car while looking through my mail.  Then he gets into his vehicle and sits for several minutes.  (There was a driver waiting in his truck).  Next he gets back out and tries my neighbor's mailbox, and then another neighbor's mailbox.  Then they get back in the car and turn around and head back towards the club house.
This morning at 6:00 a.m. one neighbor states that all of the mailboxes on our cul-de-sac and surrounding street were left open and their vehicle had been broken into.
The NPD officer, Joshua Hard has urged me to contact the HOA and get a message out with the photo of the vehicle.  Officer Hard wants folks to report any information to him immediately.  His number is 366-5341 ext 6462.  The incident number is 2015-368.  Officer Herd is attempting to get fingerprints off of the vehicles and mailboxes this morning.  He said for anyone who thinks they may see this vehicle in the neighborhood to report it asap.  He also urges folks to take their mail in and be alert.  He stated he has had several reports of mail theft and break-ins in our area lately and he wants to catch these guys for us.  He wanted to know if the clubhouse has video footage or if any other neighbors have video footage around this time last night.
